We provide supervised visitation and monitored exchange services for Domestic Relations and Child Welfare Cases. Our goal is to provide professional, safe, and family oriented approaches to managing monitored exchanges and supervised visitation services. We are a member of the Supervised Visitation Network.
What is supervised visitation?
Supervised visitation is when counselors monitor, coach and supervise visits between biological parents and children, children and relatives, and adoptive families and children. Visitation can be observation only or can be more in depth and therapeutic. The price varies for the supervision needed and requested. Counselors can provide assistance with reunification, family connection goals or if court ordered. The staff encourages good parenting using proven techniques such as “Love and Logic” and “1-2-3 Magic,” as well as appropriate behavior modification strategies through positive reinforcement and natural consequences to encourage and model effective communication. When necessary, staff can guide parents in the development of safety and behavior plans.
Visits are held at a safe, neutral, and therapeutic setting in the community or in our office. There is a venue fee if the visits are held in our office locations of $55.00/hour plus the supervision fee. If visits are held in the community at an event, the visiting parent is responsible for paying the related cost for the supervisor. Additionally, visits held out in the community are subject to a fueling fee and/or mileage reimbursement.
Supervised visitation sessions vary in length depending on the needs and wants of the family and the counselor assigned. The counselor will work directly with the family in order to meet their needs and possible time frames and duration of the visit.
What are monitored exchanges?
Monitored exchanges are situations where a neutral party or counselor is involved during a visitation exchange to minimize parental conflict and child distress.
Where are monitored exchanges done?
Exchanges are typically done at a public setting.
How long are monitored exchanges?
The transfer of children typically does not take a lengthy period of time; however, 1 hour is the standard rate plus mileage from our office to the visitation exchange site.
What are your hours?
We offer supervised visitations and monitored exchanges on a flexible schedule based upon client need.
Unfortunately, insurance does not cover supervised visitation services. Payment is due at least 3 days prior to scheduled day of visitation. In some instances, when there is a state action, local Department of Social Services will pay for services when court ordered.
